The sampling point is a characteristic and representative subspace for the station-defined object, which is clearly identified and located for repetitive measurements for in-depth knowledge of the environment at the station.
Sampling points are also the places at the station where the collector will, as far as possible, carry out his sampling or measurements in situ.
A sampling point may be sampled from different media, inert or biological (water, sediment, diatoms, macrophytes, macroinvertebrates, etc.).
Each sampling point may belong to one or more measuring networks and be the subject of one or more uses for each of which the period(s) of membership will be specified.
Each point shall be identified and located by the body(s) in charge of the management of the measuring station.
This information is administered by the Water Agencies and is the responsibility of the developer(s) of the measuring networks or uses to which the station is attached.
