Dataset description

Forest bondity is a map layer or property with its own presentation rules in the national data set AR50 that shows main types of arealess resources on a scale 1:50 000 adapted for use on scales from 1:20 000 to 1:100 000. Forest yield is a measure of the area’s ability to produce wood. Forest bondity is a map layer in the nationwide dataset. AR5 showing production capacity/bonity in forest area on a scale of 1:5000. Property/column in the data set to be used to produce the map layer is called ARSKOGBON in SOSI format and forest bondity in gml and gdb format. Legal property values apply to the aratyup forests and wooded marshes. These are according to the code list: Very high bonity; high bonity; medium bonity, low bonity bonity; Unproductive forest. Combinations of the code values to produce the property are composed and exist as a query in the presentation rules. The dataset covers all areas below the forest border. The data set is adapted to use on scales from 1:5000 to 1:20 000. AR5 is derived from the earlier fields in Economic Mapping. Area less than two acres is usually not separated as a separate figure. Agricultural land is separated down to 0.5 acres. The requirement for location accuracy is two meters. Area in square meters is listed under AREA_C. Municipalities are responsible for continuous updating. NIBIO makes periodic updates every 3 years. Data is downloaded municipally.
