From May to September 2016, a catch-re-catching study was carried out in the Gesäuse National Park on the yellow belly hamlet (Bombina variegata). The study area extends between 490 m and 2 369 m above sea level. During the four to six visits at the different sites, the animals were caught, photographed on the belly side, sex determined, biometric data measured and water parameters recorded. A sample of 13 animals was tested for the presence of chytrid fungi Batrachochytrium dendrobatidis (Bd). For comparative data, areas close to the National Park and the Kalkalpen National Park were investigated.
