For the purposes of establishing the area balance of grazing intensity for the current protected area, the results of the 1999 survey and for the extension areas (Zirknitz 2001) were used for the current protected area. The result can be summarised as follows:
— Large proportion of unused land: Almost four-fifths (79.31 percent; 31.718 ha) of the current protected area is not used for alm-economic purposes.
— Low proportion of sheep pasture: Less than one-tenth of the protected area (8.84 percent; 3.536 ha) is used as extensive sheep pasture.
— Low proportion of (very) intensively used cattle pasture: Areas grazed by cattle or horses occupy 16.4 percent of the study area. The areas are distributed mainly among the extensive and moderately intensive grazing areas (9.5 percent; 3.799 ha), only about 2 percent of the total protected area is (very) intensively grazed (898 ha).
— Vanishingly small proportion of mowing surfaces: The 43 hectares currently mowed are located exclusively in the outer zone.
