The project aims at the recording and presentation of the alm-economic use in the expansion area of Fleißtäler after the rezoning in 2011. Based on the studies Alminventar National Park Hohe Tauern Carinthia from 1999 and the update of the Alminventar in 2001, the
alm economic use in the expansion area Kaponigtal and Pfaffenberg. The same process was carried out in 2011 for the Fleißtäler enlargement area, using the same methodology as far as possible. 3 alpine pastures are located in the 20.42 km extension area, which is completely located in the municipality of Heiligenblut. For modelling, the current buoyancy figures from 2011 were used for the alpine pastures of the expansion area. This year, 287,85 GVE of livestock were recovered.
For the purposes of establishing the area balance of grazing intensity (current use) for the entire protected area, the results of the 1999 survey and the extension of 2001 and 2005 have been used for the current protected area. After merging with the data from the current expansion, the results of the Hohe Tauern Carinthia National Park can be assessed as follows:
— Large proportion of unused land: More than three quarters (76.46 per cent; 33.644 ha) of the current protected area
they are not used for economic purposes.
Small proportion of sheep pasture. A little more than a tenth of the
Protected area (11,41; 5.018 ha) is considered extensive
Sheep pasture used.
Low proportion of (very) intensively used cattle pasture.
Take land grazed by cattle or horses
12,03 of the area of investigation. It dominates extensively
and moderately intensively grazed areas (9,49; 4.169 ha), only
approximately 2.17 of the entire protected area will be intensively
very intensive grazing (953.33 ha).
Vanishingly small proportion of mowing surfaces. The 44 ha
currently mowed surfaces are located exclusively in the outer zone.
