The biotope mapping shows a highly natural or natural state of this remote, non-touristically developed region of the Gesäuse National Park. Due to the creative power of avalanches, a varied habitat has been created, characterised by the change of rock biotopes, perennial oats-horse harrows, latches and beech bushes, rubble and book-rich forests.
The company "green craft office for applied ecology" was founded on 14.5.2014 by the National Park Gesäuse GmbH with the project "Biotope mapping National Park Gesäuse 2014: Speerkar/Mitterriedl, Scheibenbauernkar/Hochkar" contracted. With a total area of 291.19 hectares, the research area comprises the Hochkar on the south-eastern slopes of the Tamischbach Tower, the Mitterkeil and the wind farmer’s car to the east of it as far as the Brettspitz, the Haindlkar from the cutting plan down valley, as well as the later Speernkar under the alpine wall and the Mitterriedl between these two Karen.
