Continuous observation of dynamic sites in Gesäuse National Park

This project deals with the monitoring of habitats characterised by high dynamics, recent disturbances or an altered disturbance regime: — Dynamic habitats with regular relocations (Schotterbanks, active Schutthalden) — Periodically disturbed habitats with outapuration gradients (Lawin gutters) — Periodically eroding habitats with cyclic succession (plaics) — Semi-dynamic habitats with beginning succession (less active Schutthalden) — Succession on recently disturbed (or anthropogenically stabilised) sites (mountain collapse, live construction) The high dynamics distinguish the study surfaces from most common monitoring surfaces, resulting in adjustments to the recording methodology and the scale levels studied.
