In May and June 2015, during the main flowering period, the already known occurrences of the ornamental spring nelke were visited in the Gesäuse National Park. In their surroundings, but also in other national park areas, by ascent, near and remote sensing (search and control with spotting and binoculars) were specifically searched for further (partial) populations in suitable trenches, rubble and open spaces. The obtained GPS data and the analog documentation of the found inventories on orthophotos from 2010 were merged in post-processing to determine population expansion. By combining our search methods, a current and accurate distribution picture of Dianthus plumarius subsp. blandus in the Gesäuse National Park was developed.
