From 14 to 16 June 2013, the seventh National Park Hohe Tauern Day of Biodiversity took place in the Gschlössbachtal (East Tyrol). Due to the very low-impact conditions in spring 2013, the surveys were extended to the Umbal valley, where more favourable conditions prevailed. During the event, a large number of exper-tians were able to detect 1,249 species of animals, plants and fungi (as well as subordinated systematic units) for the examination bid (965 for the Gschlössbachtal and 511 for the Umbal valley).
The proven species have been integrated into the Biodiversity Database of the Hohe Tau-ern National Park as a result of the “National Park Hohe Tauern Day of Biodiversity 2013” as a “increase” of approximately 2,584 datasets.
