From 7 to 9 August 2015, the ninth “National Park Hohe Tauern Day of Biodiversity” took place in the Untersulzbachtal (Salz-burg). During this event, a number of experts were able to demonstrate 1,264 species of animals, plants and fungi (as well as subordinate systematic units) for this area of study.
Prior to the 2015 Biodiversity Day, 733 Taxa were recorded in the Biodiversity Database of the Hohe Tauern National Park at the Haus der Natur in Salzburg. As part of the Hohe Tauern Day of Biodiversity National Park, a number of new groups of organisms have been taken into account for which relatively few findings have been reported so far.
All proven species have been integrated into the Biodiversity Database of the Hohe Tauern National Park, which is experiencing a total increase of almost 4,000 datasets through the Hohe Tauern Day of Biodiversity Day in 2015. A total of 1,614 species of animals, plants and fungi (as well as subordinate systematic units) are now detected in the study area.
