Denisia 19: 857-873
In 2003 and 2004, the local bedbug fauna was studied in six representative biotope types of Sulzkaralm (1,340-1.540 m), Gesäuse National Park (Steiermark). The primary objective of the study was the identification of species communities in differently grazed alpine pastures and an assessment of the importance of nature conservation from a geological point of view.
Nature conservation species that determine value can be found accumulated in the lime grassland, in the wetlands and in the woolen grass bog. This has shown how important extensive, often small-scale meadow types are for the preservation of local diversity on alpine pastures and the characteristic alpine fauna.
