Large alpine pastures are still traditionally managed in the Gesäuse National Park, while others have not been smuggled or mowed for (many) years due to lack of profitability. Within the framework of a comprehensive research focus of the National Park Administration, the nature conservation value of the cultivated land is to be documented and the effects of the management (s intensity) or no longer carried out will be described in order to lay the foundations for future land management in compliance with nature conservation. For this purpose, a total of 10 alpine pastures were managed in the years 2004 to 2006, some of which were already abandoned on their small mammals, cicadas, bedbugs, rungies, spiders and weaver knitting fauna. An overview is given in the table below. In addition, we refer to the bedbug and locust examination at the Sulzkaralm. This report summarises the results of 2006; this year, Kölbl-, Hochscheiben- and Niederscheibenalm were processed.
