Dataset description

In 2007, Gesäuse National Park initiated a management to combat Invasive Neophytes. Initially, only individual areas were processed. Since 2010, the annual actions have been extended to the entire protected area. The focus is on the freeing of sensitive habitats such as avalanche troughs, floodplains, shore areas, etc. The following three species are actively combated: Glandular herb (Impatiens glandulifera), Canadian and giant gold rod (Solidago canadensis, S. gigantea) and Japanese shrub (Fallopia japonica). Last year’s trend continues: Through consistent control and control, Drüsiges Springkraut was largely successfully pushed back, as well as Japanese perennial kö-terich. Gold rod is still problematic, not least due to the extensive stocks along the railway line that crosses the national park and the settlement areas that supply new seed supplies every year. Neophytes continue to enter the protected area The mapping of the neophytes in the Gstatterboden area can serve as the basis for a serious fight by the municipality of Gstatterboden/Admont, the Landesforste Styria and volunteers. The proposed methods of processing the individual neophyte deposits and an assessment of the dominance of stocks are listed.
