Dataset description
Through progressive landscape-changing interventions, man contributes to the former
cohesive natu & 776;ral habitats to be fragmented and new ones created. The result is in many cases a mosaic of opposing habitatinness" (cf. Curtis 1956, Palotas & Demeter 1983). In the Neusiedlersee area there has been a fundamental structural change in the landscape over the last 30 years due to such interventions. The aim of this thesis was to investigate the effects of these changes on mammalian fauna, in particular small mammal fauna.
