In Austria, Rosalia finds are known from all federal states, except Burgenland, with the main distribution areas located in the Viennese Forest and the Northern and Southern Limestone Alps. Already in the course of the 2004 investigations, two current evidence of the Alpine buck in the area of the Gesäuse National Park has been obtained. During the 2005 mapping period, it was now possible to detect existing occurrences at 5 locations and at just as many locations.
Taking into account all the findings from the literature and the evidence from the current investigations of the years 2004 and 2005, an assessment of the conservation status for the FFH protection property Alpenbock (Rosalia alpina) in the Gesäuse National Park was carried out. Classification is carried out in category B (good).
