As of 2011, there are 10,000 found data from 54,500 specific butterflies for the Gesäuse National Park. Compared to other areas in Styria, it is apparent that the large amount of butterflies found in the groom is divided into more species. In many areas, most butterfly individuals belong to only a few species, while most species are represented by very few individuals. In some areas, just over 3 % of the dominant species already account for half of the individuals recorded. In the groom, it is 6.8 % of the most common species, which account for half of the recorded amount of butterflies.
