The Vorarlberg biotope inventory records and describes the particularly valuable habitats (biotopes) of Vorarlberg.
The following criteria are decisive for inclusion in the biotope inventory: Degree of naturality, rarity, presence of protected species (animal and plant species), presence of endangered species and communities, ecological welfare effect, landscape planning, regional cultural significance, scientific significance
The first survey of Vorarlberg’s biotopes took place from 1984 to 1989. The update of the inventory was carried out between 2005 and 2009.
Further information (municipality reports, photos and species lists) can be found in the VOGIS Atlas and on the homepage of the country.
