Areas in accordance with the Waste Remediation Act (ALSAG). Old landfills (old landfills) and old sites (former factories), which may be contaminated before 1989, are identified by the Federal Minister in the Waste Pollution Regulation as contaminated by the Federal Environment Agency after carrying out a risk assessment and finding a significant threat to the environment and health (after assessment by the Federal Environment Agency). The assessment of the urgency of necessary remedial measures is distinguished by three priority classes. Classification in Priority Class 1 means the highest urgency of remediation measures. After confirmation of the refurbishment success, the data on the contaminated site are updated by the Federal Environment Agency and marked by the Federal Minister as “remediated or secured contaminated site” in the Waste Pollution Regulation.
