The investigation area (UG) was mapped in late summer 2011. It includes the north-exposed steep demolitions of the Zinödl below the Wolfbauernhochalm (=Zinödlalm) as well as the Kummerwald and extends for example from the Kummerparkplatz on the Enns in the west to the Hochstegmauer in the east. In the north, the Enns forms the border. The southern border represents the steep walls below the Wolfbauernhochalm. The length extension in the north-south direction varies between 470 m in the east and 800 m in the central area, the width (north east/southwest) is about 2.2 km. The orographically deepest point lies other Enns in the far northeast of the UG at 520 m, the highest point at the northern demolitions of the Zinödl at 1.400 m. Thus, the UG’s centre of gravity lies in the montane height level, with the subdivisions into low and medium-montane heights (600-800 m and 800-1.200 m respectively) and reaches the high Montane (1.200-1.450 m) level (cf. KILIAN et al. 1994).
