Collection and presentation of ecosystem services.

This report presents for the first time the most important ecosystem services for Austria in maps nationwide. The quantitative coverage of these ecosystem services is carried out by means of selected indicators, which are described in the same way as the methods used and the data bases taken into account. This presentation of the current state of ecosystem services can be seen as a basis for identifying future trends in the use of ecosystem services. The results of the report thus contribute to the implementation of the EU Biodiversity Strategy and serve as a means of communication to raise public awareness. In addition, they enable the planning of necessary measures by policy makers to secure our livelihoods, ecosystems and their services.
