In the report “Emissionstrends 1990-2014”, the Federal Environment Agency provides an overview of anthropogenic, i.e. man-made air pollutant emissions in Austria: • Dust — total suspended particulate matter and particulate matter • ozone precursors — nitrogen oxides, volatile hydrocarbons without methane and carbon monoxide • acidifying and over-fertilising air pollutants — sulphur dioxide, ammonia and nitrogen oxides • Heavy metals — cadmium, mercury and lead • Persistent organic pollutants • greenhouse gases — carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide and fluorinated gases trends and major polluters are analysed and compare current emission data with mandatory environmental targets. The data are based on the results of the Austrian Air Pollutant Inventory, which is compiled annually by the Federal Environment Agency.
