Dataset description

In Austria, around 8.39 million tonnes of fuel were sold in 2016, of which 6.75 million tonnes of diesel were sold. In order to verify compliance with the quality standards for fuels in accordance with EU Directive 98/70/EC, experts from the Federal Environment Agency analysed samples from 206 service stations throughout Germany. Diesel fuels have been tested according to ÖNORM EN 590, petrol according to ÖNORM EN 228. Gasoline samples were found to exceed the permissible sulphur content. For petrol, two samples of the fuel grade “Normalbenzin” differed from the standard parameter for vapour pressure. All fuel samples of the “Superbenzine” and “Super Plus” grades were compliant. None of the six samples analysed exceeded the maximum value of 10 mg/kg sulphur content for marine fuels to be observed in accordance with EU Directive 2009/30/EC.
