The report provides a comprehensive description of potential measures to reduce ammonia emissions from Austria’s agriculture. In cooperation with HBLFA Raumberg-Gumpenstein recommendations were developed for measures and statements on the emission potential were made. The focus was on practical applicability, acceptance of the measure, specific costs (economicality) and potential for reduction (efficiency). The recommendation is broken down by type of operation that generates relevant emissions: Fodder farms (cattle farming), processing farms in pigs and poultry and market crops (arable farming). The measures concern feeding strategy, animal husbandry, storage and application of farm manure and use of mineral fertilisers.
