The current report deals with the recording of atmospheric heavy metal and other depositions in Austria using moss as biomonitors. The mosses were examined for 13 toxicologically relevant metals as well as aluminium, sulphur and nitrogen at 75 sites. In addition, the deposition of the 16 EPA PHs as well as of corons, retards and 1-N-pyrene were analysed at 25 sites. Metal deposition has largely decreased since 1995. In individual regions, the entries have remained the same or increased. The PAH deposit patterns show elevated values at individual points as well as generally in northeastern Austria. The report is a contribution to the monitoring of UN ECE’s Convention on Long-Range Transboundary Air Pollution.
