Nature conservation evaluation of alpine management in the Gesäuse National Park — Admission 2019

The aim of the project is to assess the development of selected nature conservationally relevant alpine biotopes in the National Park (Moore Wetlands, Magerweiden). The recordings of the indicator groups cicadas, bedbugs and locusts took place in 2003/2004, in 2010 and in 2019. The developments of the investigated insect populations are pleasing without exception on all subareas. The fencing of wetlands with sensitive plant populations in the vicinity of normal grazing grass is, in any event, a relevant and important measure. The high bog on the Neuburgalm must be fenced out.
