The Events Noise Directive is a recast of the Open-Air Event Directive published in 2000 and provides a technical basis for assessing the noise emission of events. It can be used for planning and approving events and serves as a decision-making tool to assess locations from a sound technical point of view and to determine the permissible number of events. The scope of the Directive has been extended to all types of events. It is also applicable to noise emissions entering the open from buildings. Noise emissions for motorsport events have been added to the approaches used so far to determine the emissions of music events.
