Ö-ISCO (Austrian Professional Classification) Description: Ö-ISCO 08 is derived from ISCO 08. ISCO 08 is the international standard classification of professions. ISCO has been developed by the International Labour Organisation (ILO) and serves primarily to facilitate the international comparability of labour market statistics. It will also serve as a model for countries wishing to revise or establish a national occupational classification. Explanatory texts and an alphabetical list of professions are available for the correct application of Ö-ISCO 08. Ö-ISCO 08 comprises 436 occupational categories at the lowest level (4 posts).
