Dataset description
Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) are condensed aromatic compounds resulting from incomplete combustion of organic material or fossil fuels. Due to the carcinogenic and mutagenic effects found in animal experiments for some substances, PAHs pose a risk to human health. The majority of PAH emissions are caused by domestic fires, caloric power plants, motor vehicle transport and industrial plants, in particular coking plants, gas plants and refineries.
