PRODCOM (product list for the production area) Description: PRODCOM refers to the EU system of production statistics in mining and tangible goods. The main part of these production statistics is the underlying product classification, the so-called PRODCOM list. However, this is not printed in the Regulation, but is prepared annually by the PRODCOM Committee. The headings of the PRODCOM list are defined by the Harmonised System or by the Combined Nomenclature. The encoding is done by means of an 8-digit code, the first six digits of which are identical to the CPA codes. The PRODCOM list is therefore directly linked to the central product classification. The versions of the PRODCOM are always tied to the respective year (e.g. PRODCOM 2008 applies to the year 2008).
