Dataset description

The European Union’s circular economy package and other EU regulations set the course for a Europe-wide circular economy. They lead to changes in the Austrian waste management and also affect plastic waste. The report presents the EU regulations relevant to plastic waste. Five large-scale plastic waste streams are then analysed in terms of their mass, composition and environmental relevance or waste collection and treatment: Disposable tableware, used tires, hard plastics, plastic films and agricultural films.
