Dataset description

These sunshine and radiation data were calculated using the radiation model STRAHLGRID of the ZAMG. The model takes into account solar position, atmospheric turbidity and clouding calculated from station measurements of sunshine duration. Topographic shading and other terrain effects (land and multiple reflections) are accurate, but close shadowing (e.g. through buildings or vegetation) is not taken into account.
