Assessment of the status of surface water bodies in accordance with the National Water Management Plan. The assessment is carried out through the assignment to one of the 5 status classes: very good, good, moderate, unsatisfactory, bad. The specified environmental objective is to achieve or maintain at least the state class well. The sub-assessments of ‘chemical status’ and ‘ecological status’ are grouped into the ‘total state’, which includes the worse assessment. The sub-assessments ‘nationally regulated pollutants’ and ‘biological status’ are summarised as ‘ecological status’, which includes the worse assessment. The sub-assessments “Biology in terms of hydromorphology” and “The state of biology in terms of material loads” are summarised as “biological status”, with the poorer assessment counting. The ‘valuation type’ indicated for each assessment provides information on the data sources underlying that assessment. The state of data shall be in line with the 2015 National Water Management Plan (NGP) and shall be updated as appropriate after the publication of the NGP 2021.
