The CSIs are based on European standards and the indicators include the significant accidents. That is to say, any accident involving at least one moving railway vehicle, the consequences of which are :
a death or a seriously injured person, or
significant damage (minimum €150,000) to rolling stock, track, other installations or the environment, or
major traffic disruptions (minimum 6 hours on main track).
