Belgian Cancer Registry: Barrett Esophagus RadioFrequency Ablation

The registration project "Barrett Esophagus - RadioFrequency Ablation" (BE-RFA) is an initiative of the National Institute for Health and Disability Insurance (Rijksinstituut voor ziekte- en invaliditeitsverzekering) (RIZIV/INAMI) in collaboration with the medical centers that are recognized by the RIZIV/INAMI to perform radiofrequency ablation (RFA) for Barrett esophagus. The medical centers recognized by the RIZIV/INAMI where RFA is being performed, need to register all entitled persons with Barrett esophagus within this registration project in order to be able to benefit from a compensation of the compulsory insurance for the prestations concerning catheters for RFA for Barrett esophagus. This registration project is available online since October 2018 and includes all patients for whom one or more RFA treatments were performed since April 1st, 2016. Registration takes place via the Web Based Cancer Registration (WBCR) application of the Belgian Cancer Registry (project module BE-RFA).
