Geographical grid data set representing the soil cover in Flanders, condition 2015.This map has a focus on soil and the loss of its essential ecosystem functions such as soil and its irreversibility. We're talking here of “Bodem Covering.” Soil sealing shall be expressed as the area whose nature and/or condition of the soil surface has changed by the application of artificial (semi-) impermeable materials resulting in the loss of essential ecosystem functions of the soil. The map is displayed in percentage hedging per pixel (5 m resolution).
