Breaches of CITES legislation by AGD & A

This table shows the number of violations of CITES legislation per calendar year. The Washington Convention (CITES: Convention on the International Trade of Endangered Species) is an agreement that organises international trade in wild animals and plants, and their parts, in a legal, sustainable and traceable manner, without endangering these species. The objective of the Convention is to organise international trade in wild animals and plants in a legal, sustainable and traceable manner, without compromising the survival of these species. International trade (import, export, re-export) is regulated on the basis of a system of certificates and permits issued under certain conditions. AGD & A has control and finding powers for CITES. This means that, in the event of a breach of CITES legislation, we draw up an ordinary PV, retain the goods and inform the competent authorities, which will then give a destination to the goods.
