Dataset description

Per hectare, the area ‘built’ is calculated by adding up the area of all buildings within that hectare cell. This included all buildings from the GBG building layer of GRB (main buildings, outbuildings and buildings zoomed with virtual facades) and all CADMAP buildings with the exception of the underground buildings (UN). For more details on the method of land use allocation to open space, please refer to the technical report "Poelmans Lien, Crols Tomas, Janssen Liliane, Hambsch Lorenz (2021), Indicators Spatial Efficiency. Technical fiches", carried out on behalf of the Flemish Planning Bureau for Environment.
