Consultation zones of Seveso establishments in Flanders

Seveso establishments are establishments with large quantities of dangerous substances on their premises falling within the scope of the Seveso Directive on the control of major-accident hazards involving dangerous substances. The consultation areas show the maximum distances to where the effects of the Seveso devices reach and within which (developments in) the environment may also have an impact on the Seveso establishments. In concrete terms, this is the zone from the boundary of the Seveso establishment in which spatial development plans must be submitted to the External Security Team for advice.
