HONDENLOOPZONE City development/Designation A dog walking zone is a city-defined terrain: fenced and marked by a sign. Dog walking zones are the only places in the city where a dog can walk loose on the public domain (not leashed). These grounds have a fence, gate, waste bin and a board and are sometimes also equipped with lighting and one or more benches. According to the possibilities, a dog walking zone can be quite small or large, a larger dog walking zone has more facilities (more sofas, multiple entrances, etc.). A dog walking zone is built by the city or district and maintained by city staff.
Locations of the dog walking zones can be used as a support tool for the service and in relation to environmental analyses e.g. accessibility.
The inventory is carried out on site or on the basis of as-built plans.
