The flood hazard maps describe the ‘physical properties’ of the floods such as flood contours, water depths and flow rates. These maps are modelly determined starting from the potentially risky watercourses. Only the map of the floodable area is displayed here. This map shows the areas where there is a risk of flooding, both by flooding from the watercourses and from the sea. In contrast to flooding from the watercourses, flooding from the sea was also taken into account by flooding in the seawall. The map shows the extent of the flood for three different flood scenarios (low chance, medium chance and high probability). A small probability or exceptional event corresponds to a recurrence period of the order of magnitude of 1 000 years, a medium probability with a repetition period of 100 years and a high probability, statistically, corresponds to an event occurring once every 10 years.
