Flood sensitive areas 2014 — (Water test), correction 1/06/2017

In the context of the water test, a new third version of the map has been created which shows the flood-prone areas up to the plot level for the whole Flemish Region. The map contains the effective flood-prone areas (dark blue layer) and the potentially flood sensitive areas (light blue layer). In this new version, the effective flood-prone areas were processed with information from new and updated flood areas, in addition to the other local floods between 2006 and now.On 1 September 2014, an adaptation to the Water Test Implementing Decree came into force. These adjustments came after a thorough evaluation in 2013 which indicated that the water test needed to be strengthened. The amendments to the Decree adopted by the Flemish Government on 9 July 2014 should ensure this.
