Energy consumption accounts for most of the greenhouse gas emissions in Flanders: 73 % in 2019.
Other important sources are process emissions from the chemical industry (11 %) and non-energy emissions from livestock farming (5 %) and iron and steel production (5 %). Total emissions have decreased by 15.5 % since 2005.
