Place of Prayer The Religion Service collects data on all active faith communities in Antwerp. This as a condition for realising the administrative agreement whereby the city has an integral policy on location, permit and management of prayer rooms with attention to religious freedoms but also for the impact on the district and the local residents. Fire safety, noise, mobility and spatial safety are important criteria.
The aim of this central overview is, on the one hand, to pursue internal policies on publicly accessible infrastructure, on the other hand to disclose this information to an external public. Interested parties can find out who the religious communities active in their city or neighbourhood are. The gis layer contains information about address, type (rooms-Catholic, Protestant, Jewish, Islamic,...), subtype (drawing, denomination or nationality), non-profit number, website and language worship.
