Housing density per ha — Flanders — condition 2019

This map indicator shows an estimate of the percentage share of ‘homes’ per hectare. As a proxy of “homes”, “buildings on residential plots” are used. Per hectare, the area occupied by ‘residential buildings’ is calculated with a combination of class (19) ‘buildings’ from the land use stock (level 1) and ‘residential plots’ from the land use stock (Poelmans et al., 2021). All individual buildings located on a residential (or occupied) plot are charged, because the method does not allow a distinction between the house itself and any other buildings on the plot (garden storage, garage, other (additional) buildings).
