Overview of the hunting grounds included in approved hunting plans. A hunting ground is a contiguous site consisting of one or more plots on which the same rightholder or a group of hunting rights holders has the right to hunt. The approval of a hunting plan is in accordance with Section 1 of the Decree of the Flemish Government on the administrative organisation of hunting in the Flemish Region of 25 April 2014 (B.S. 12 June 2014). A hunting plan proposal must be submitted annually before 1 April by a hunting rightholder or by the game management unit to the district commissioner of the province in which the hunting ground or most of it is located. The district commissioner concerned shall approve the hunting plan before 1 July, after making any adjustments, in accordance with Articles 31 and 32 of the above Decision. A hunting plan can be adjusted over the course of a hunting season. However, an adjustment cannot relate to an extension of the hunting ground. If no new proposal for hunting plan or a declaration of retention of an unchanged hunting plan is submitted before 1 April of an ongoing year, the approval of the hunting plan of the previous year shall automatically expire on 1 July.
