OpenbareMetadata, Locatie van kernen met een onvoldoende mix aan basisvoorzieningen - Vlaanderen - 2015, ruimterapport, MercatorNet, ruimtemonitor
Dataset description
This card shows a selection of the cores where there is an insufficient mix of basic facilities. Basic services are facilities that are necessary to organise daily life and to participate in social life. Examples are: a kindergarten and primary school, childcare, general practitioner, pharmacy, food shop, post (point) and meeting rooms inside and outside (Verachtert et al., 2016). Just for basic services, it is important to have a sufficient mix of such facilities at a reachable distance. In order to be able to speak of a living place, you must be able to reach at least a baker or a butcher or a small food shop, a doctor, a pharmacist, and a primary and/or kindergarten at 17 minutes walking distance from that place. For the cores, the algorithmically generated cores as described in the technical report were used: Vermeiren Karolien, Poelmans Lien, Pisman Ann, Vanacker Stijn, Willems Peter and Guy Engelen (2018), Kernen, ribbons, scattered buildings in Flanders. Morphological classification of buildings in Flanders, study commissioned by the Flemish Environmental Planning Agency. The information on the basic provisions was obtained from the results of the study: Verachtert, E., I. Mayeres, L. Poelmans, M. Van der Meulen, M. Vanhulsel, G. Engelen (2016), development opportunities based on node value and proximity facilities. This study was carried out by VITO on behalf of the Department of Space Flanders and published on 29-02-2016.
