Dataset description

The quality of surface water in agricultural areas is monitored in the MAP measurement network. The number of measuring points was extended from around 260 to about 760 at the end of 2002. Excessive nitrate concentration in surface water threatens drinking water production and can lead to excessive algae growth in surface water.
