Dataset description
This list presents the whole
AMO and MADO active in the Wallonia-Brussels Federation.
An AMO is an Action Service
in the Open Environment, aimed at young people under the age of 18 (or
under 22 for some AMOs).
It carries out actions of
social and educational prevention in a given territory and in the absence of
any administrative or judicial mandate. The aim of these actions is to promote
the development and empowerment of young people in their social and
in their living environment.
All young, as well as his family
or his acquaintances, can call on his services. Beneficiaries may
terminate their participation at any time.
The actions of AMOs can be
individual (coaching, mediation, guidance, legal aid, etc.) or
(development of actions with young people, prevention and
awareness raising, etc.). AMOs can also bring forth, value and
relay the words of young people, their families and their familiars.
In addition to all these missions, the 24/7 AMOs welcome, day as well as
at night, any young person in difficulty as well as his family or friends. They
ensure a continuous presence, a hotline and a place
accessible to young people 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
These AMOs also offer a
overnight reception (one night, renewable once) for young people from
under the age of 18, if any other solution proves to be impractical or inappropriate.
The Maisons de l’Adolescent (MADO) are services whose
main mission of uniting partner competences in one place
various professionals, in order to organise a response and a comprehensive approach to
difficulties encountered by adolescents, their families and familiar.
They carry out preventive measures in a defined territory, outside the
any administrative or judicial mandate. They guarantee the anonymity of the
people who call on them.
MADOs welcome young people
between 11 and 22 years old. The actions carried out may be individual (response to
demand, reorientation, etc.) or collective. The MADO stakeholders are
subject to professional secrecy. The accession of young people, their families and
familiar with the proposed actions is free; they can put an end to
all the time.
Finally, in addition to AMOs and MADOs,
three services implement projects
special Education (PEP)
intended for young people who request it in a non-mandated framework. It’s a question of
a service that can host and host young people in the short term,
24 hours a day (Abaka), or services that offer emancipating activities
such as organising citizen projects (Solidarity) or accompanying
youth in national or international mobility projects (Dynamo)
International).
