Observations are results of research or other observations with a certain relevance to the heritage. A large number of sources are used for this: published data, historical sources, reports of archaeological finds, etc. Currently these are only archaeological observations, but in the future this can be expanded with architectural and landscape. The archaeological observations together form the Central Archaeological Inventory (CAI). Due to the vulnerability of some sites, most CAI chips remain shielded from visitors without personal access. This is called private observation. However, on 22 March 2021, some of the Observations were made available to all. These “public” observations are mainly fiches on archaeological excavation studies, and preliminary studies carried out in the framework of the Onroerender Heritage Decree.
