Flood model city of Antwerp, maximum water level in meters, modeled in specific year and repetition period. Purpose: Urban areas are very vulnerable to the effects of climate change, due to the high concentration of people, infrastructure and economic activity, but also because cities tend to aggravate extreme climates such as heat waves and sudden floods. Climate-fit.city will translate the best available scientific data on the urban climate into relevant information for public and private end-users operating in cities across a range of different sectors. Production: TheMAP is based on the results of VITO’s urban climate model UrbClim. For the reference period ‘2000-2017’, the model was driven by ECMWF ‘ERA5’ data.
